The BX-1 McKenzie Binocular from Leupold features phase-corrected BAK4 roof prisms and anti-reflection fully multicoated optics to produce a versatile and capable optic with true high-contrast color rendition, and bright and clear images. Coupled with the optical features are 42mm diameter objectives which give the binocular very competent low-light performance. This combination of optics and objectives make the McKenzie ideally suited for most outdoor activities from hunting, to birding, to sporting events.

Complementing the optical performance are construction details that make the binocular durable and comfortable to use. The housing is protected by a rubberized armor that is textured for a non-slip grip. The optical tubes are nitrogen-filled and o-ring sealed to be water and fogproof. A right-eye diopter adjustment and twist-up eyecups allow the binocular to be customized to most people's needs and can be comfortably used with or without eye wear. For long-term glassing, the McKenzie is tripod mountable with an optional adapter.
